Torino

I got to this a week late, but the weekend of February 5 Paul and I make the journey to Torino. We both decided we would not be able to see the Alps and not go skiing so we planed a one day trip to Sestiere, the site of a few of the downhill events in the 2006 Olympics. Torino was beautiful, with the backdrop of the Alps down every western facing street. I wish I had done more research on Torino and places to see, but I think we made the most of it. After checking into our Hostel we grabbed some lunch

We headed to the Mole Antonelliana,

which houses the National Museum of Cinema and is the most iconic building in the city. With student discount it was only 3.5 Euro to ride the Willy Wonka elevator to the top. The views from the top were unbelievable

The next day we headed to the Mountains and after a hour train ride and 40 minute bus ride we arrived in Sestiere

34 Euro lift tickets sure beat the $95 ones out west, and we had access to about seven different resorts that are all interconnected. The views from atop the mountain were like nothing I had ever seen before

After skiing we walked around the town some and bought some memorabilia. I found the a sign that had the all the winter olympic sights and how far they are from Sestiere

The next day we wandered around the city some more and hung out in the Palazzo Madama. Some Native American's even made the journey to play music

It was finally time to head home and on first class, as for some reason we could not find train tickets in second
